Mr. Hauptmann’s Class Newsletter
Unit 6, Week 1- January 22, 2013
In memory of Martin Luther King
Jr., we will be reading “My Brother Martin” this week. This biography is
written by Christine King Farris, the older sister of the late Dr. King. Her
book tells the story of how one boyhood experience inspired a movement. We will
focus on some new vocabulary words in this story. It would be helpful if you
will reinforce the meaning of these words at home with your child. Also, on this newsletter you will find our
spelling words for the week. The words in italics are our challenge spelling
words. Let’s have a great week!
