Class Newsletter- Week of February 9, 2015

This week we are reading “The Wretched Stone”, “Jumanji”, and “The Wreck of the Zephyr” by Chris Van Allsburg, who also happens to be one of my favorite authors! We will focus on some vocabulary words in these stories. This week we are continuing our Chris Van Allsburg author study, and for a final culminating activity the students will be creating board games based on one of Van Allsburg’s books. We are also writing narrative stories based on the illustrations in Van Allsburg’s book “The Mysteries of Harris Burdick”. Make sure you ask your child about their story.
