Class Newsletter- Week of January 13, 2014

Mr. Hauptmann’s Class Newsletter
Unit 3, Week 1 (continued)- January 13, 2014

This week we are continuing our Chris Van Allsburg author study, and for a final culminating activity the students will be creating board games based on one of Van Allsburg’s books. Make sure you ask your child what book they are working with. In Science we are beginning a unit on simple machines and are starting to think out our Science Fair projects (don’t worry, we will be completing these in class!) This week’s spelling words are fourth grade sight words (same words as last week), which are words that fourth graders are expected to be able to read and spell with 100% accuracy, though they are typically misspelled by many. Please practice these words at home as well. Let’s have a great week!
