This week we are reading “The Evil Swirling Darkness” by Lauren Tarshis.  We will focus on some vocabulary words in this story.  It would be helpful if you will reinforce the meaning of these words at home with your child.  Also, on this newsletter you will find our spelling words for the week.  Please practice these words at home as well (words are also on SpellingCity.com, search under Mr. Hauptmann>Evil Swirling Darkness). Please sign the bottom of the newsletter and return the lower portion with your child on Wednesday. Let’s have a great short week!

Everyone looked so nice today for picture day! This week we are reading “How Bad Could It Be?” by Nora Baskin.  We will focus on inferences and how a character often changes during a story. In math we will continue working with factors and multiples of numbers.  Also, on this newsletter you will find our spelling words for the week. The words in italics are our challenge spelling words.  Please practice these words at home as well. Please sign the bottom of the newsletter and return the lower portion with your child on Tuesday.
