Who's Boo?

Brandon, Lauren, Kylie, Robert, and Ashley went trick or treating together. They each wore a different costume (a ghost, a pirate, Spiderman, a witch, and a ghost). At the end of the day, each of them counted the number of pieces of candy they collected. They each collected a different amount of candy (63, 77, 83, 54, and 84).
Figure out the costume worn by each person and the amount of candy each person collected.
1. Brandon was not a pirate.
2. The boys (Robert and Brandon) costumes included a pirate and Spiderman.
3. Lauren and Kylie collected a total of 161 pieces of candy.
4. The ghost collected 77 pieces of candy.
5. The pirate collected 83 pieces of candy.
6. Ashley and Lauren collected a total of 140 pieces of candy.
7. The witch collected the most pieces of candy.

1) Who wore which costume and how much candy did each collect?

Unit 1 Week #5 (review week)

This week we are finishing up Unit 1 in Reading, and instead of spelling words we will focus on the past vocabulary words from this unit. Each student should have a list of all the vocabulary words in their maroon homework folders.  It would be helpful if you will reinforce the meaning of these words at home with your child. Please sign the bottom of the newsletter and return the lower portion with your child on Tuesday. Let’s have a great week!

Harvest Parade

On Thursday, October 31, we will participate in the East Falmouth Harvest Parade.  Please send your child’s costume to school in a bag and s/he can change before the parade.  You and your family are invited to watch the parade.  If you are able to attend, find a spot along the track.  The parade will begin at 2:30ish.  When we return from the parade, the students will have special treats back in the classroom.  If you would like to provide something “healthy” to eat (please no candy) or drink, it would be much appreciated. I will provide plates, napkins, and cups. Thanks!
